Privacy Policy
Last updated September 24, 2026
This policy explains what information Saccly LLC (“Saccly,” “we” or “us”) collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers this website, the services we provide to clients, and Saccly Bookkeeping. We do not sell your personal information.
1. What this policy covers
- This website, including forms you fill out on it.
- Client services. When we build or run a website or system for a client (for example, a shop’s order form), we handle the information it collects on that client’s behalf and under our agreement with them. The client’s own privacy policy governs how they use it. Questions about that information should go to the client first.
- Saccly Bookkeeping, our bookkeeping service for small businesses, including its app and text messages. Use of Saccly Bookkeeping is also governed by the Saccly Bookkeeping Terms of Service.
2. Information we collect
When you visit this website or contact us
- What you send us: your name, email, phone number, business name and message.
- Basic technical information our servers record automatically: IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request. We use it to keep the site secure and working.
When you use Saccly Bookkeeping
- Account information: your name, email, mobile number, business name, business location and how you file taxes.
- Bank and card information, through Plaid: the name and type of each account you connect and its transactions (date, amount, description and merchant). We do not receive or store your bank username or password, and we do not store full account numbers or account balances.
- Payment tool information: if you connect a payment provider such as Square, Stripe or PayPal, the sales, fees, refunds and payouts it reports.
- What you tell us: your replies to our text messages, the categories, events and purposes you assign, receipt photos, mileage, home workspace details and notes.
- Billing information: your subscription and payment history. Card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe, not by us.
- Usage and security information: sign-in times, devices and actions taken in your account, kept to protect your account and to show you a history of changes.
3. How we use information
- To provide Saccly Bookkeeping: organizing transactions, suggesting categories and events, preparing reports and year-end summaries, and sending the text messages and emails you signed up for.
- To provide the review service on plans that include it, where Saccly staff check your books each month.
- To answer questions you send us and to provide client services.
- To bill you, prevent fraud and keep our systems secure.
- To improve our services. For example, when many businesses categorize the same supplier the same way, we use that pattern, without any business’s identity or amounts, to make better suggestions for everyone.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. Bank connections through Plaid
Saccly Bookkeeping uses Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to connect to your bank and card accounts. When you connect an account, you sign in to your bank through Plaid, and you authorize Plaid to retrieve your account information and share it with us. Plaid’s handling of your information is governed by the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. You can disconnect an account at any time in Saccly Bookkeeping; we then stop receiving new data from it.
5. Automated suggestions
Saccly Bookkeeping uses AI models (Anthropic’s Claude, accessed through Google Cloud) to read transaction descriptions and your text replies and to suggest a merchant name, category, event and purpose. Suggestions are suggestions: you, or Saccly staff on the review plan, confirm them. Our agreements with these providers do not allow them to use your information to train their models.
6. Text messaging
If you opt in, Saccly Bookkeeping sends text messages about your account: questions about new transactions, weekly and monthly summaries, and reminders. Message frequency varies, up to about 10 messages per week. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time and HELP for help. Details are in the Text Messaging Terms.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories of sharing described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
7. How we share information
We share information only as described here:
- Service providers who run parts of our services for us and may use the information only to do so: Google Cloud (hosting and AI processing), Supabase (database and sign-in), Plaid (bank connections), Twilio (text messages), Stripe (payments) and Resend (email).
- People you choose, such as a tax preparer or accountant you invite to view your books.
- Legal reasons: when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Saccly, our customers or others.
- Business transfers: if Saccly is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that deal, subject to this policy.
We may share information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it cannot reasonably identify you or your business.
8. How we protect information
- Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Bank connection tokens receive an additional layer of encryption with keys kept separately from the database.
- Each business’s data is kept separate from every other business’s at the database level.
- Account sign-in requires two-step verification.
- Saccly staff can open a business’s books only on plans that include the review service, or when the owner grants access for support. Every staff access is logged.
- Receipt photos are stored privately and shown only through links that expire.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
9. How long we keep information
- While your Saccly Bookkeeping account is open, we keep your bookkeeping records for up to seven years, which covers the periods tax authorities can usually ask about.
- When you cancel, you can export your records. We disconnect your bank accounts immediately and delete your data within 30 days, unless you ask us to keep it longer. Copies in backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule after that.
- We keep billing records and records we must keep by law for as long as the law requires.
- Website inquiries are kept as long as needed to respond and follow up, then deleted.
10. Your choices
- Access, correct or export: most of your information can be viewed, edited and exported in Saccly Bookkeeping. For anything else, contact us.
- Delete: you can ask us to delete your account and information at any time, subject to the legal exceptions above.
- Bank connections: disconnect any account at any time.
- Text messages: reply STOP, or turn texts off in settings. You can keep using Saccly Bookkeeping without texts.
- Email: account emails can’t be turned off while your account is open, but any marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law. Contact us to make a request; we will verify your identity before acting on it.
11. Children
Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will notify Saccly Bookkeeping customers by email before it takes effect.
