For chambers of commerce and community organizations

How we help chambers and community organizations with members, events and donations

Many chambers are really several organizations at once: a membership group that collects dues, a nonprofit that runs events and takes donations, and sometimes the manager of a special service area or business improvement district. Below is what we set up for each part, on apps you already use, and how we keep it running.

The examples use the Wrenfield Avenue Alliance, a made-up neighborhood organization, so you can picture your own.

If switching systems is what’s stopping you

If you’ve thought about switching systems and decided against it, you’re not alone, and you weren’t wrong to be careful. Moving means years of member and donor records, connections to your website and payments that can break, and a team that already knows the old way of doing things.

If it’s something you’ve considered before, we’d love to talk. We’ll look at what you use now and what a move would actually involve, and tell you honestly whether it’s worth it for you.

When a business wants to join

A business owner thinking about joining usually starts on your website, looking for what membership costs and what they get for it.

We set up a membership page with your levels and what members get. A business picks a level, pays dues by card and gets a welcome email with a receipt. Their directory listing goes up the same day.

What we set up: A membership page with online dues and an automatic welcome email.

When you run an event

Vendor applications for markets and festivals often come in on paper or by email and end up in a spreadsheet someone has to keep up by hand.

We add an event page with an online vendor application. Applicants choose their dates and add photos, members get their discount automatically, and every application lands as a row in one shared sheet you can sort and mark approved.

When someone wants to support you

If part of your organization is a nonprofit, gifts to it are handled differently from membership dues, and donors expect a receipt.

We add a donation page for the nonprofit side. Donors give by card and get a receipt by email. Every gift is recorded under the nonprofit, and dues under the chamber, so each one's totals stay separate.

What we set up: A donation page with automatic receipts, kept separate from dues.

When people look for local businesses

Members want to be listed where neighbors will find them, and neighbors want to know what's on the avenue.

We build a directory from your member list, sorted by category, and new members appear in it as soon as they join.

When you have news to share

Members, business owners and neighbors often want different news from you.

We set up a newsletter that goes to the lists you choose, using Mailchimp or Constant Contact, and posts the same news on your site.

How we start

We begin with a short call about your next event. From that, we build your vendor application form for free, with dates, booth fees and a shared review sheet. You can use it whether or not you work with us.

If you want more, we build the other pieces one at a time and maintain them after launch.
